Nov 22, 2019 In Outlook, the 'Don't download automatically' is a default setting, and it's there for a good reason: infected pictures in e-mails can instantly mess up your PC. You NEVER want your pictures to just automatically display from random senders in an e-mail. In Outlook 2016, there is this huge gray bar at the bottom which lists (in a very big font) Mail, Calendar, People, Tasks, etc to switch to their corresponding folder. In previous versions of Outlook, they were listed as icons within the pane on the left which also displays all your folders. I liked this configuration better as this was a lot smaller and therefor allows for more space to. By default, Outlook uses 11-point Calibri text in messages you compose and send. If you'd prefer different formatting, changing this default is easy: Click the File tab and choose Options. Maybe Outlook 2016 is smart enough to detect whether or not external sharing is enabled, but if so, this does seem to go wrong sometimes. I have seen cases where users send an attachment link, but the recipient cannot access the document. That is unless you customize the Ribbon Bar in Outlook 2016. When you place the commands that you use most often in the Ribbon Bar, you can save time and increase your productivity. Before you begin, make sure the Ribbon is displayed. The Ribbon in Outlook 2016 is hidden by default to give you more vertical space, so you’ll want to change this.
How to switch between schedule view and vertical view in Outlook calendar?

I could not understand why my new work computer would suddenly switch to a horrid landscape view when I added a fifth person's calendar, and then wouldn't switch back until I only had my own calendar shown. It was far enough down the options for my not to have spotted it. Normal service is resumed now, and I'm much happier!
The other day, a customer emailed me and asked a question about the attachments in her email. She was seeing the attachments embedded in the body of the email instead of in the Attachments area below the subject line. She wanted to know why that happened, and how she could get it fixed.
First, here’s what an embedded file looks like in an email:
Normally, the file shows up in the Attached field under the Subject line:
The reason for the change in behavior is that your email formatting has been changed from HTML to Rich Text:
When the setting is Rich Text, all attachments are placed within the body of the email, and you can determine where they are placed by putting your cursor where you want the attachment to show up. If you want the attachments to show up in the Attached field, just change the setting to be HTML.

If you want to fix that for all emails, go to the Outlook Options by selecting File > Options, and make the following setting change:
